May 18 - Santo Andre / Santiago do Cacém

A peaceful coastal area defined by the meeting of the Atlantic Ocean and a calm lagoon, contrasted by the historic hilltop town of Santiago do Cacém just inland. This region offers a serene start to your journey: choose between the nature reserve with its flat trails and pine forests, or the authentic charm of a traditional Alentejo town crowned by a medieval castle.
Option 1 - Amarello Hotel Praia Santo André - booking.com
A solid, locally-run hotel that feels personal and welcoming rather than corporate. Its biggest asset is the location—it is the most practical option right by the Atlantic for this stage of the ride. While it isn’t a luxury resort, it is a smart choice for a restful night: clean rooms, a quality breakfast to fuel your next ride, and authentic local restaurants just a few minutes’ walk away.
Being just steps from the beach, you can easily go for a refreshing swim right after your ride and then relax on your balcony

This option is located inland, requiring an extra 10–14 km (7–9 miles) of riding from the coast. However, it rewards you with a genuine Portuguese town atmosphere and a historic castle, rather than a typical beach resort vibe.
The excellent on-site restaurant means you can enjoy a great dinner right at your accommodation without having to search for a place to eat after a long ride.

This is consistently considered one of the top 2–3 accommodation options in Zambujeira, where availability is always limited. At the moment, there are only one or two rooms left, so this option would require a quick decision.
The property does not offer twin rooms, only doubles, so staying here would mean booking two separate rooms.

The property is modern, impeccably clean, and features a beautiful terrace where you can unwind and feel the ocean breeze after your day's ride.

For a proper morning meal, you are just a short walk from Padaria Augusto Ferreira (the main village bakery), known for its fresh bread and local pastries. May 21 - Arrifana
Arrifana is iconic for its surf vibe and stunning cliffside setting. It is less of a town and more of a community stretched along the cliffs, serving as an excellent base for coastal loops.
